Being Well

Wellness is a topic which we are all fairly interested in and there are many ways to achieve it. I have been exploring getting well since I was 22 when I began to study yoga. From there, I learned meditation, reiki, ayurveda, angel therapy, home birthing, pranic healing, raw vegan food preparation, marathon running, and so much more in between. The past 10 years have been filled with self-healing. After having two kids and losing one hundred pounds, moving from NY to CA and getting divorced, life looks nothing like it did 10 years ago. Wellness for me has been a complete personal overhaul. I was unwell much of my life. From being abused to self-abuse, as I journeyed to many teachers and "healers," I learned to become more well. Wellness is not an end, it's a path. The more well we become, the more we do to keep it. It's like when you plateau as an athlete. The more you purify your body, the more you keep purifying your body. You go from eliminating cheese to drinking green juice. There's a progression and a process.

There have been many miracles on my journey, special people, my children...divine interventions and grace seem to always step in when I need it. Archangel Ariel always said that my vibration will affect my manifesting or creative abilities. So for example, when I am dull, heavy and depressed, I don't manifest much. When I lighten up with some green juice, running and yoga, I attract so much more into my life. In between those poles of depression and joy, are moments of intense emotions which are part of my personality as well as part of the cleansing process. Truthful emotional release is hard for many people. I'm lucky that this has been something I do with great ease, probably to a fault. That said, as I share this personal information, and I do so that more of us can get "real" with what is UNWELL in our lives, going into these emotions can be done more easily than you think. Most are afraid of it, it's an uncomfortable place. Thank God we have books and meditation classes to get us through it all.

As we journey towards wellness, at our own pace, I will share this tip: Do pace yourselves. This life is a marathon. Focus on feeling good, not being an addict, but feeling good doing what makes you well-er and well-er.

More wellness to come....
