Wellness is a topic which we are all fairly interested in and there are many ways to achieve it. I have been exploring getting well since I was 22 when I began to study yoga. From there, I learned meditation, reiki, ayurveda, angel therapy, home birthing, pranic healing, raw vegan food preparation, marathon running, and so much more in between. The past 10 years have been filled with self-healing. After having two kids and losing one hundred pounds, moving from NY to CA and getting divorced, life looks nothing like it did 10 years ago. Wellness for me has been a complete personal overhaul. I was unwell much of my life. From being abused to self-abuse, as I journeyed to many teachers and "healers," I learned to become more well. Wellness is not an end, it's a path. The more well we become, the more we do to keep it. It's like when you plateau as an athlete. The more you purify your body, the more you keep purifying your body. You go from eliminating cheese to drinking green juice. There's a progression and a process.
There have been many miracles on my journey, special people, my children...divine interventions and grace seem to always step in when I need it. Archangel Ariel always said that my vibration will affect my manifesting or creative abilities. So for example, when I am dull, heavy and depressed, I don't manifest much. When I lighten up with some green juice, running and yoga, I attract so much more into my life. In between those poles of depression and joy, are moments of intense emotions which are part of my personality as well as part of the cleansing process. Truthful emotional release is hard for many people. I'm lucky that this has been something I do with great ease, probably to a fault. That said, as I share this personal information, and I do so that more of us can get "real" with what is UNWELL in our lives, going into these emotions can be done more easily than you think. Most are afraid of it, it's an uncomfortable place. Thank God we have books and meditation classes to get us through it all.
As we journey towards wellness, at our own pace, I will share this tip: Do pace yourselves. This life is a marathon. Focus on feeling good, not being an addict, but feeling good doing what makes you well-er and well-er.
More wellness to come....

What is the DEER about anyway?
On my run/walk/meander this afternoon, I saw deer after deer and finally saw 6 deer together in one area. I come across them often on this trail, and aside from their obvious charm and beauty I am compelled to write about deer energy and medicine, from a different perspective than just observing that they're pretty animals.
Many of us dabble with animal medicine and we note that deer medicine is about sweetness and gentleness.
There was much behavior to observe today: Eating and grazing on greens, twitching ears and tails, walking and lying down, stopping and staring, nibbling and resting, etc. Deer must be one of the most peaceful animals if you stop to watch them. The only animal I could think of that would be as harmless is a mouse. But isn't it amazing to see a larger animal that is so peaceful? And then I think of dolphins too. The deer is serene, they give nothing but peaceful and calm energy, perhaps even timid when threatened, but mostly, they are just gentle creatures who do little but graze on greens and walk through the forest. What an example to follow?
The deer doesn't think or have too many concerns. Perhaps their habitat is lessening, and yet they may not of course "think" about this and the dangers of being so close to the freeway. The deer look unaffected and they are. They are unaffected by what is going on around them, they are able to walk, graze and rest with no disruption.
What if we all could do that? What if we could all co-exist with this much disarmingly peaceful behavior of quiet meandering and grazing? What if we stopped to stare at each other, without thinking, but just acknowledging the other's presence? What if we weren't too busy to move so slowly throughout the day? Simple, effortless, being, and nothing more. It's funny how much we can learn from animals, if we could take the time to walk outside more frequently.
Anyway, I wish us all a deer-like easy day of peace.

Light Talk; Straight Talk with Houman & Andria 1

Houman and Andria have both had a long term career with similar interests in Spiritual growth, travels, and hobbies. They have been sometimes classified under varying titles of the children of the new era, and varying spiritual phenomena with both them and their loved ones and associates surrounding them often. Quite often, phenomenas of "Light" surround them; thus, we have named this "Light Talk", and "Straight Talk", because both Houman and Andria like to cut to the chase and get past the hypes of the New Age "stuff" and the confusion of what Houman refers to as the "Las Vegas of Spiritualists," where people gamble much of their money and time, and instead forget about the true spiritual heroes around the world, who assist us all, all of the time, free of charge, and often in selfless manners. Such discussions will be amongst the subjects discussed here and more; like, why do people show so much interest in spiritual "junk food", "fast food", and not the real thing? Why don't people get with the program and quit buying all these dime and a dozen spiritual "best-sellers", which get old shortly after they are printed? Why are all the real avatars, heroes, and children of today still hiding? Who are they hiding from, etc. etc... Better yet, why is the rest of the world not recognizing those heroes that are very well known, with responses like, "How come I didn't hear of this sooner"? And there are also the affirmations of "Light" that will be stressed, and not only the negation or "clean up" that is required. We shall see! Here Houman has chosen the role of assisting and interviewing Andria in her role and purpose as a mother of two young boys, a practitioner of numerous spiritual healing arts, school teacher, doula, etc...
Houman: What is the focus or the most significant highlight of your work? Name three...
Andria: 1- Children; 2- Working with Angels and studying the experiential aspects of varying angelic phenomena, and 3- Natural Wellness, including nutrition and detoxification.
H: ... which is something many females seem concerned, and maybe sometimes obsessed with, I mean "nutrition". Okay so, which of these do you want to start with?
A: Angels.
H: Go on.
A: What would you like to know? Does the audience have a question?
H: Most mothers are not consciously aware of Angels around their kids. I know you are, and you often see and talk about this subject. Lets start there, because this will tie together all the three highlighted points that have been listed from the start of this dialogue.
A: Angels are a naturally friendly way to connect with Spirit. Angels are a non-threatening aspect of spirituality. People of all religions are comfortable with Angels as a concept; whereas, some of the heavier spiritual topics, or the use of the term "God", may scare people as a religious term. Angels are non-denominational lighter and a simpler idea to most people. Most people's third-eyes are not open; therefore, they are not able to see the Angels around their children. So one aspect of my work is to help adults heal and open their third-eyes. Often diet and exercise are related to the openness of the third-eye.
H: I know you went through drastic measures of changing your diet and weight, what were the most liberating or positive changes as a result? Lets start with the physical changes.
A: I lost a hundred pounds, my psychic abilities opened more fully, and became a more a awakened mother. And I was better able to help others. Also did more fun things and hobbies, like running the Napa Marathon in the rain... play more actively with my kids etc.
H: There is often visible sights and sightings of lights around you, both in photos captured on Camera, and while you work with others. Literally "lights", as in Orbs, and what I call Phantoms, and other such phenomena... I know that you often recognize gifted children and individuals very quickly and easily. I know you are also able to not only recognize, but more fully embrace their wholeness, which is very important. How did these psychological changes and abilities begin for you?
A: My entire life as early as I can remember, I have been able to scan an entire person instantly and have glimpses of their whole person. And it is not just seeing, but knowing and feeling, which is more important and in-depth. I used to think I was judging people, but gradually realized much of what I received was information about others without really wanting to necessarily. Lately, in the past few years, I am also able to see specific colors, images, or presences with people.
...to be continued...

Raw Blueberry Pie
My kids love this pie...Sam, my four year old gobbles it up. I made it today in less than 10 minutes, stuck it in the freezer for about an hour, ready to eat, that was at 11am, it's 5pm and the pie is gone!! Healthy, great for healing diabetes, balancing blood sugar and getting lots of antioxidants and vitamin c, plus a little protein in the crust!
This is one of the easiest raw pies to make.
1/2 to one whole cup of raw cashews ( I use nut free crust recipes too, you can always grind dates and dried coconut to form a crust)
2T coconut oil
1-2T raw agave nectar
Grind cashews unsoaked in food processor until a powder-like substance is made. Add coconut oil and agave. Process together till combined, and press into pie pan, place in freezer for 5-10min.
2 bags of raw organic blueberries (frozen). Fresh works if available 4C total, but when using frozen, I rinse them in cold water and let them sit for a minute draining them and letting them defrost a bit.
1 banana
1-2T raw agave
Optional: cinnamon, nutmeg, coconut oil, pro-biotics, a handful of strawberries
Mix in food processor till smoothe, pour over pie crust. Place in freezer for an hour till firm, serve or let defrost a few minutes and then serve.
Or, place in the refrigerator for about 3 hours to set. The banana helps it firm up. If you use too much of other fruits, it may not firm up as well, but feel free to experiment.
Raw desserts are so nutritious, they're perfectly acceptable to eat for any meal of the day, or to eat a lot of. For my boys who are quite finicky about whole raw foods, sometimes these blended pies are the best way to get them to eat it, and clearly, Sam gets whatever his body needs in terms of protein, fats, and nutrients from this pie. Now if I can only get him to eat some fresh leafy greens....that's a whole other issue. :-)
With love,
Andria

Spicy green curry soup
Wowsers, so I needed something warm tonight...when it gets cold and damp (acupuncturists can't stand raw foodists LOL). So here's a soup to warm you up and if you have a Vita-Mix, let it run for a minute or two, your soup will be warm, and still raw.
Meat of 1 thai coconut
1 cup carrots chopped
handful of parsley
1 jalepeno
1 clove garlic
dash of olive oil
dash of raw agave nectar
dash of salt
dash or a few dashes of nama shoyu
as much curry spice as you wish
For non raw foodies, I think this soup would be great if it was cooked too. But for raw folks, this is a good one, very spicy and heating for this cool weather and for all the purification that needs to continue.
